“Gonbohori” means “to knead” in the Michinoku dialect. We gave this name to these dumplings because we already wanted to eat them, even as we were kneading them!
The dumplings are wrapped in a walnut sauce, accented with glutinous rice powder called “han-mochie” and soy sauce brewed in Hanamaki, giving them a sticky, chewy texture. Enjoy the balance between their smooth texture and the light sweetness of the walnut sauce.
